My landlord won't allow anyone to shoot the foxes. which I don't understand at all.

Er. Most animals eat the thing they're eating alive.
The loris, wolves, cats, all carnivores.
It's only humans who do the butchery thing. And shrikes. -

I absolutely despise mavecos.

I mean you could argue if we were all vegAn then the foxes wouldn't eat the farmer lambs.
Which is the problem really isn't it? Something is getting to eat something someone "owns" and will profit from.

Is there a hunting thread on here?
Not as far as I know. There's a thread about urban foxes, a thread about urban fox hunting, a thread about how fox blood stinks and a thread about vulpine clothing though.
-
• #632
Yes which is why the dogs eat the fox alive.

You and most people on here.
-
• #634
No the issue here is that some of you don't like posh or rich people.

Heh. I don't really but I do think that when you say you hate foxes you are really saying you hate nature.
Foxes like delicious lamb so it's only natural that they'll try and eat sheeple if they get a chance. Hunting with domesticated dogs bred specifically for the purpose, on horseback, is pretty unnatural all in.
It's a lovely part of the world you're in anyway, I've had the dubious pleasure of being held up by both the Heythrop and the North Cotswold before now - I imagine the North Cotswold are more local to you so you're less likely to see Cameron out...

Burnham has won comfortably in Manchester. Although I bemoan labours retreat to the cities, it's good we do maintain a strong base in some areas to rebuild from. https://twitter.com/jeremycorbyn/status/860511123111632897

I don't hate foxes but they do behave like animals.

Example nuance of foxhunting ban - Farmers that raise livestock alongside thick vegetation (eg gorse) need dogs to flush out foxes in order to shoot them. The hunting ban sets the bar very low for number of dogs allowed so the hunters end up chasing the foxes around in circles on foot with a couple of dogs rather than flushing them out with a line of dogs (not a pack) and shooting them quickly.
Of course it's entirely possible that many pro fox-hunters just want their horrible bloodsport back, but this sort of thing must contribute to the idea that the ban was pushed through by city folk who don't understand how the country works.
Fwiw I'm a city dwelling vegetarian.
Edit: just realised what thread this is. Soz for perpetuating the derail.

This.
They have one in Burnley. By all accounts because he is a decent local councillor who actually tries to deal with issues as opposed to a lot of the labour councillors who view it as a safe seat.
