Yes, hunting takes many forms, some of them practical / ecological, some of them for fun, some of them for both reasons. What I meant was I have been shouted down before as there are many with a very black and white view of these issues. I think that correlates with being in a large city.

Exactly. I don't go hunting but most people I know down here do. I think it is unnecessary but the community lives and breathes it. Is nice to see the community together. I tend to go off on a bike ride when the hunt is on.
