I'm on duty, yet again..... With regards to the woodcarving, I've just adapted a scrap bit of MDF into a sharpening wheel for knives that attaches to my bench grinder! It is super easy to get a shaving sharp edge, perfect for maintaining your various wood-butchery implements!
You can knock one up in about 30 mins.....
