I think the straggler is high on my list now. I still like that Kona.

Pinnacle Arkose, actually an excellent bike espeically the latest 2017 model that have seen some revision.
Got flat mount brakes, thru axles on the front, carbon fork, alu frame, geometry is fairly relaxed but not heavy, massive clearance, etc.
Even the Arkose 2 with 10 speed Tiagra and full hydraulic is a pretty great deal for the money.

Now that my lht has shed its racks and guards it's actually a fun little mtb with 41c knards, it's not that heavy despite the beefy rims and dynamo. It gets air for days off speed bumps now..
The straggler didn't exist when I got my lht but if I had the choice I'd go straggler every time for my needs.
