Recently setup my first disc brake bike with shimano RS685 shifters.
The rear brake feels good, engagement point power etc. I noticed that the brake lever I can push away a little from me from the neutral position.
The front brake takes a lot of lever pull before it engages. Lever does not push away from me from the neutral position.
Is it normal for lever to be able to be pushed away from neutral position on these shifters when setup right, and what is cause/solution for the long lever pull before engagement on the front?
for the front repeatedly push the lever and after 10-15 tries the pads may have moved further in. if it feels spongy then it sounds like it needs a rebleed
There is play in the shifter so that you can push the lever away from you from the position where it naturally is by about 10 degrees. It doesn't feel like a loose rattly however.
Hydraulics question.
