• Sounds right from a geometry point of view. Your knees will end up higher at the top of the pedaling circle than they used to though. You might want to tinker with your bar height.

  • Yeah I did wonder about that - I guess it's about adjusting saddle height so I don't end up over-extending my knee at the 6 o'clock position, but then just accepting that 170mm will just be quite different elsewhere in the pedal stroke.

    Would tinkering with bar height presumably be raising it?

  • Not sure to be on honest. On one hand you've lowered your saddle so you've reduced your saddle to bar drop. This would imply lower the bars to counter.

    On the other hand your knees are now moving closer to your torso and thus testing your flexibility more. This would suggest raise your bars to counter.

    In conclusion, I have no idea. Maybe just leave them where they are and see how you get on.
