What a contemptible moron.
Where do these uneducated people come from.I'm getting pretty tired of all these people. It's dispicible and disgusting.

Do we think that May will use the result of WW2 in the official negotiations?
I'm pretty sure that's only ever really used in conjunction with the result of WW1 and some global football competition involving cupping

Theresa May has been using her charm on the people of Cornwall
(You might surmise that her aversion to being filmed/recorded might be to avoid the risk of saying something that would take the media spotlight away from Diane Abbott)

Labour come up with an excellent/credible policy regarding the Police Force and Diane Abbott manages to sink it in a few minutes.
Amazing. I watched to whole video and cringed so violently I'm probably lucky to be alive.

Yes, it's this kind of ineptness, giving their enemies free gifts, that is so frustrating.

If I turned up to work that badly prepared or incapable of performing the required standard, I'd be sacked.
At this time, why on earth are they doing things so badly? Especially with such a hostile media.
-
• #408
Yea, a good question.
That said a few possible reasons spring to mind:
1) Labour have had a lot of 'turnover' so their MPs and support staff are less experienced/organised (although that doesn't really excuse Abbott)
2) Labour are campaigning on national issues so they need to cover a lot of ground (whereas the Conservatives are focusing almost uniquely on Brexit)
3) This election was launched unexpectedly at short notice meaning the policy details will not have been fully worked out (and this is exacerbated by the second point above) -

Outside of her own constituency (and possibly London) Diane Abbott seems to be a real liability. I suspect that the close alliance with Corbyn and her increased media presence is losing far more votes than it is gaining.

Tonight's party political broadcast by the Tories was abysmal, not a single policy, just strong and stable, coalition of chaos and character assassination of Corbyn

Interesting chart from the Newsnight people showing how Conservatives are campaigning deep into traditional Labour territory
It's not hugely intuitive so you need to read the thread for instructions
https://twitter.com/xtophercook/status/859393872442654720As it says, the big triangles are where TM/JC have been, and the crosses are seats adjacent to places they've been. Obviously coloured by party.

And, as light relief, Ed Milliband on the campaign trail
-
• #416
It's makes you wonder why Ed didn't act more like this when he was leader of Labour. The world would be a different place, probably no Conservative majority. Though the deal he did with the unions to fuck over his more popular brother is where the current state of the country stems from.

True. It's quite amazing how political history is shaped.

Either way, why didn't Ed Milliband show this comedy side two years ago?
-
• #423
He did. When he was papped eating that bacon sandwich by the scum.
I'm thinking of staying in the states. The news is just wall to wall celebrity bollocks and local shootings. It's quite calming.

That one.
I dunno why he couldn't be a witty prick back then. Shame. He'd have won. But he's setting himself up nicely to assume leadership once Jeremy takes a good hiding.

I know they say you shouldn't read the comments but;

The Commission continues to expose itself as a brutal totalitarian entity.
You must belong to the EU, not because it is good for you, but because of intimidation and fear.
The Commission is no better than the Mafia, pay up or we will break your knee caps.
There is nothing positive about being a member of the EU - nothing.Jimmy Jones 2 May 2017 1:19PM
@Fly Fishing By J R HartleyThat is exactly how it is! I have a friend living over there in EU-land and she says it's just like North Korea. Well, actually she meant just the climate is similar to North Korea, warm summers and cold winters. So I suppose that's why the EU is so popular for summer holidays and skiing. But that's not the point, the point is that's it's clearly a totalitarian entity, they all drive the same BMW's Mercedes and Porches. And they all live in well constructed houses and have great medical care. That is not freedom! I bet if I went over there and demanded an old Ford Fiesta, a draughty old house, and a 10 hour wait at A&E with my chips with peas in my hands they would just laugh. Then break my knee caps. Probably.
^ ultimately it's all quite sad: The Dutch town where my parents live was liberated by British soldiers in WW2.
Now everyone my dad speaks with (warning for sample bias) thinks the UK is getting everything it deserves in Brexit with its attitude. What a mess of hard feelings...
