I'm not sure how else I could do it. I've got an old rd6500 which I'm pretty sure I ran with 10 speed 105 levers. I'd like to use the same mech on 10 speed wheels and cassette. In my head I think of non indexed shifters as working like dimmer switches or mixer dials on rotary mixers.
