Nope! Just a smooth hole it seems now, from what I can see in the tiny hole.
Probably over tightened them myself but there's only so much torque you can get on the tiny levers...
Dt Swiss responded telling me to call TF Tuned as they deal with uk warranty. I kinda can't be bothered making a fuss. -

I'm no expert but as mentioned, copper grease seems to be highly recommended on the internet.
It does specify a thin film on the back of the pads. Obviously I'm super careful to apply this without getting it any where else. Earbuds are your friend. -

But it came out so perfectly... :)

Agreed! I was amazed.
What actually happened was I removed the end cap after it failed to tighten. Didn't feel right removing it but then when I looked closely, the entire thread was still threaded on the skewer. I carefully spun it off the skewer and that's what I was left with. -

I had a very similar problem with a HY/RD and found that the pads were contacting the arms of the rotor. Switching from a svelt Shimano to a more agricultural 6-bolt TRP rotor made a world of difference. I expect a washer or two under the mount might also do the trick.

Anyone got some Shimerno M615/675/785 brakes for sells?
-
• #3708
Yeah, got a brand new right hand rear M675 SLX with white hose for 35. Comes with olive for shortening the hose if you need to. Asking for 35. Same model as this: http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/mobile/shimano-slx-m675-disc-brake/rp-prod83173

Superstar don't have any Shimano pads in stock. Have emailed them but:
Thank you for your interest in our brake pad range. We are sorry to say that
our current range is now out of stock. We are currently re-developing this
range and at the moment do not have any information on the range or it
restock date.Where else can I buy a few kevlar pads and get a similar saving to Superstar?

Semi-metallic or kevlar? Or sintered? I just can't decide!
Just put a race matrix pad on the front of my Oka and I don't like it very much. Crap modulation and weird noise
-
• #3722
Mix of sintered where available and semi where not
Found the kevlar stuff gets eaten by sand if its wet.
-
• #3723
Are sintered not the ones that squeak like buggery though? Or is that organic?
I want good power but not grabby
-
• #3724
Yeah I think they can be a bit yowly but I don't mind cause it's not for the commutes.

Hydraulics question.
Recently setup my first disc brake bike with shimano RS685 shifters.
The rear brake feels good, engagement point power etc. I noticed that the brake lever I can push away a little from me from the neutral position.
The front brake takes a lot of lever pull before it engages. Lever does not push away from me from the neutral position.
Is it normal for lever to be able to be pushed away from neutral position on these shifters when setup right, and what is cause/solution for the long lever pull before engagement on the front?
Thanks!
That might be a helicoil - so that you can't rip the thread out. Is there still a - larger - thread in the bit where that thread came out of?
