I would love a space horse in that colourway.

Looks like these might be a nice upgrade for the awful gripshifters:

You want Humpert bars and cork grips from SJS.

Also those gripshifters are fine, good action and reliable. Changing them is a waste of time imo.

Fair enough. I would just get some 7 speed rapid fire pods then.

However those are both grey, not silver.
Tektro CR720 have some nice one in polished, but I rated the CX70, and the grey is a nice shade, it's straightforward to fit and tweak.

Anyone got a rack ID on that all-city?

Hello,
Occasional lurker and trader on the forum, was hoping you fine people could dispense some advice...
I'm thinking about switching my Straggler from drops to a flat/trekking bar set up. I've got a 2x8 ultegra/xt drivetrain so I think my two (most reasonably-priced) options are:
These STI flatbar shifters
Sunrace thumbies and some flatbar brake levers (probably got some in a parts bin at home)
Does anyone have any experience with either of these setups? Reviews seem positive generally for both. Or is there another option I haven't thought of?
Thanks!

LKLM World Traveller. Not pretty, not light, but getting me where I want to go (see below).Saddle bag is a Carridice-like item called "Ease Rabbit". Someone in China has has a sense of humor.

I have those sunrace shifters in 9 speed. Don't buy them is my advice.
Indexing is off and weak, never shifted nicely, no friction mode. -
