I suspected that, but mine also has bosses on the DT for shifters/cable stops. Weird. Thanks both of you.

HT ones are just guides for outers, a neat design that means cables don't rub on frame.

Oh that makes sense. And these guides are not provided with the frames as standard? Maybe they were, but mine got lost along the way.

I've discovered my model is from 2001, which makes the 7sp DA groupset I'm putting on it rather anachronistic...
