  • Hi, I've recently bought one of these kona paddywagon 3 http://www.konaworld.com/paddy_wagon_3.cfm bikes for commuting and going to the shops. I'd like to fit a front rack to it, I like that specialized pizza rack but it wont fit as there are no mid fork mounts.

It could be attached to the mudguard mount or the axle, I have a front u brake and a SKS race blade fitted.

What rack would fit my bike? I've seen those pelago racks are popular but I don't want to remove my front brake.

    Thanks

  • It depends if you want to attach panniers on the side or not - if so a Pelago or Soma Porteur would do it. You could also potentially fit a Specialized pizza rack by using P-clips in place of mid-fork mounts as you have a steel fork on the front. Also it's worth saying that all of these racks fit in the same way behind the brake, and work with the brake in place (you have to take the brake off to mount the rack though).

If you're not so bothered about mounting panniers, something like the Metro porteur has a similar function but is over half the price of a Pelago https://www.velovitality.co.uk/products/metro-porteur-steel-front-rack-silver
