I like bottle caps because you can open them with anything, and everyone thinks your cool (guaranteed) when you pop em open with a knife or spoon or something. I smashed a wine bottle when I was younger and stupid(er) trying to push a cork into the bottle, blood and wine everywhere.

Corks are for the sort of wankers who like to use their knowledge of outdated notions of etiquette to belittle the ordinary people.
Caps are for drinkers.

Cork Oaks provide the habitat for a number of endangered species, the move to caps is having a negative impact upon the husbandry of said oaks and their associated fauna.
As long as you give no shits about this then caps have no drawbacks, and provide a handy way of feeling superior to others to boot.
