What's the current go to entry level clincher, rim braked road wheelset? RS010 any good?
-
• #83381
Are replacements for this kind of bb cup available?
-
• #83383
How entry level? There's the cheap wiggle cosine ones. £60ish and not too heavy.
-
• #83384
Link? Cant see those. The RS010s are £85
-
• #83385
Woah, £43!
Just curious really as I have had it lying around for ages. Thanks for the link! Safe to say I won't be replacing them :)
-

Hmm, looks like they're not selling them any more. This is the link: http://www.wiggle.com/cosine-24mm-alloy-clincher-road-wheelset/?sku=5360710009

Can anyone explain why these two wine bottles (semi sparkling) have different tops?
Even though they are the same wine, just different years

Because they were capped at different times. Availability might've dictated something different. Or perhaps that year they altered their bottling practices. Or maybe someone has drunk it, replaced it with their urine blended with beetroot juice and recapped it...

So there's no particular advantages of cork over cap?

Wine equivalent of the tub Vs clinchers debate....
-
• #83392
Oh god, this is like the wine equivalent of PC vs. Mac
PCs are better obviously.
Corks can dry, fail, leave bits in, etc. Caps are normally a better seal.
There's probably some argument for corks - tradition, some other shit I can't remember. Google for discussions about each option's merits. -

Except clinchers are the right answer always for everyone without a team car behind them.

You just need to hire a different bike.

Corks are for the sort of wankers who like to use their knowledge of outdated notions of etiquette to belittle the ordinary people.
Caps are for drinkers.

I like bottle caps because you can open them with anything, and everyone thinks your cool (guaranteed) when you pop em open with a knife or spoon or something. I smashed a wine bottle when I was younger and stupid(er) trying to push a cork into the bottle, blood and wine everywhere.

You can open a cork wine bottle with a shoe. Best done at 4am in a wedding outfits. You basically put the bottle in the heel of the shoe and bang it against a hard wall, and the cork works its way out.

This has been my party trick for ~10 years

Cork is harvested from trees without harming them, and isn't processed much, so it's a pretty sustainable material.
(I don't really drink wine so no opinion on that side of things) -

Cork Oaks provide the habitat for a number of endangered species, the move to caps is having a negative impact upon the husbandry of said oaks and their associated fauna.
As long as you give no shits about this then caps have no drawbacks, and provide a handy way of feeling superior to others to boot.
Can emphasised, my shop service is fully booked for nearly two weeks, even for a 30 BB service.
