I do recall reading something about the Apex derailleur having just sleeves on the wheels instead of bearings like Rival+
When I was a boy, Campag Super Record had plain bearings in the jockey wheels :)

Aluminium would have been nicer indeed, maybe I'll make another one somewhen. I filed the rough edges and covered it in insulation tape.

Hacksaw, patience and a steady hand.
This came out of a Tom Bromwich bottom bracket which was cross threaded and siezed on both sides (NDS was half way out ...)
NDS came out eventually with creeping oil and breaker bar. Sheered threads right off the cup.
Drive side ... not even a turn.

Anyone know where I could possibly get a 110bcd silver chain guard. Wanna take the big ring of my cruise machine.

What are my options for a low stack 1" threadless stem, preferrably in black? Full custom?
Is there a builder out there that does aluminium? Not too keen on steel. Titanium would be too flashy. (and would also require a matching seatpost)

New wheels and tyres for the legor all mounted up. Split between putting them on now or waiting until I have the real groupset finished.
At under 1800g for the wheelset including tyres it's looking like this build is gonna be lighter than expected.

Maybe why they're 60g over the claimed weight... I don't mind too much though.

That fork crown reminds me of:
I upgraded my commuter from Claris to Apex-1 a few weeks ago and really liking it. Just using the stock 42t chainring for now but tempted to replace with a 38t or similar given the chubby tires fitted. I do recall reading something about the Apex derailleur having just sleeves on the wheels instead of bearings like Rival+ have so there's that - marginal gains and all. Can't say I notice if that's the case compared to my other bikes though. Everything feels very solid and reliable. Planning on taking it on some long rides soon.
