It seems that there are a few going for under £350, I reckon if you wait it out you'd be able to pick one up on eBay within budget

I've seen one on their going for £250. Nearly pulled the trigger until I read the description that the flash works, but the camera doesn't turn on. What the heck! Most others on their are all upwards of £650, even over £1,000 in some cases. Madness!

These, and the higher end compacts are going at stupid prices nowadays. There is no way they are worth the money they are asking for. Their image quality is no better than a bunch of camera's you can pick up for a fraction of the price.
