Carrying on with the Land Rovers we took ours over for a Series 1 club meet over the weekend. I'll see if I can get the other pictures he took, especially a really nice comparison of a 107" Station wagon next to a 110.

Yep. Good idea. There are a few potential issues to Google up on including popping out of 2nd and IMS bearings, but avoid those and they're an amazing car for £8k.
There is no such thing as a £5k one though. The ones that are £5k are £8k ones that need £2k spending.
As @danstuff says, @Dammit is just being a bit silly.

Of course, he is not alone in this. The cost of restoring my Moggie Trav is likely to be well over twice what it'll be worth at the end of the process.
Sorry, our Moggie Trav. I must remember that @Cycliste stalks my posts on LFGSS to find out what I'm up to. I'd forgotten I hadn't mentioned my little run in with the long arm of the law to her, until she mentioned it last night.

What would a £5k car need £2k spending on it?
-
• #34017
There seems to be a lot of 2001-2002 3.2 S cars for £6-7k

Suspension bushes, ARB drop links, brake discs and pads, new clutch, leaking dampers, etc etc. New pads, a new clutch and a set of ARB droplinks could easily come to £2k, and might well be required on a bargain basement car which hasn't had that much preventative maintenance carried out. Cheap cars are usually cheap for a reason, after all.

Totes. But meh.

This.
- tyres, a service, a few bits of trim, a torn hood, wheel refurb.
Depends what you want.
I quite fancy a ratty Boxster. Slam it a bit on small matt wheels, fit hard top, noisy exhaust, away you go.

There are a few cat d about for cheaper.
Personally I'd like to get the crashed car and get it fixed myself.

Depends panels for the moggy are cheap. I like the idea of using cold galvanizing spray and then primer.

Are you in London?
ULEZ requires post Jan 2006 registration to (eventually) drive without the T-charge within the North & South Circulars.
Borescope and leakdown test tomorrow.
