Here it is.
The prototype of the idea for the new series of TMI guitars.
This is a hollow frame and spine with internal bracing with a composite aluminium/polyethylene front and back.
This design gives amazing strength and resonance while being very light.
This has two custom made Brierley vintage P-90's and an aluminium scratchplate (pickguard for those playing overseas). This is also using my new vibratos which are available in different shapes for different guitars.
I only went with an offset as we already had the shape in the CNC but I'm currently getting my designs and models drawn up to cut and assemble like this.
The "frame" can be cut from almost any material and painted any colour and the composite board comes in many colour options to match, or compliment the frame colour.
I will have this prototype in the shop for people to try out while I get another couple of ideas going.
Once I have bodies cut, and Mick makes me more pickups I will start assembling and have some for sale in the shop.
Im not taking orders and I will do a blog on the process of these (and the hollow timber ones from a week ago) and have more details and prices then.
I'm making some guitars for my 20th anniversary but if there's demand, and I have time I will keep offering more shapes and options.
