• I'm planning on replacing the hard-drive in my MacBook Pro (as I need more space). I'm not a Mac Head so would appreciate a check of my plans to make sure I don't screw it up.

I run both OS X Yosemite and Windows 10 (via BootCamp), and want to keep that setup, while adding a new ExFAT partition (for data generally, and specifically for sharing between the two different O/Ss).

I'm intending to re-install OS X from scratch, and clone (rather that re-install) Windows.

    So my rough plans are:

    • Back up everything (data, settings, licence keys, etc.)
    • Clone Windows 10 image (e.g. with Win Clone)
    • Probably also clone OS X image just for safety's sake (e.g. with Carbon Copy Clone)
    • Fit new hard-drive
    • Install OS X
    • Run BootCamp
    • Restore Windows 10 image (e.g. like this)
    • Add a new partition (for the shared data)
    • Fiddle about with everything to finish it off

    Does that sound about right?
