Luckily my missus has also started to produce whelping collars! So at least they're sorted until they go to their new homes.
They're French bulldogs.
We're gonna keep one, of course!

Who do you guys have insurance policies with? Any ones to avoid?
We have the cat with Paws and Claws but there are cheaper companies if we combine with the pup, More Than for a lifetime policy came tops.
Tough last night, first time away from his siblings and it was really tricky not run to him. My god he was happy to see us in the morning.

Do his ears stick up really tall? Andalusian or Podenco Canaria?
-
• #482
Yep, Podenco (or Ibizan Hound). Mum was a pregnant rescue but he was the only pup to survive.
His ears are Dumbo-big, but the only thing he can hear with them is the rustle of food packaging. He's a sight-hound through and through.

Great colour, reminds me of Vizsla pups. Also reminiscent of a friends Mexican Hairless... this is Willy...

Jono, did you get him from ibizanhoundrescue? if so did you meet him before adopting or just take a chance that he'd get along with you and not be a psycho..?

Our puppy escaped his cage after bedtime, scaled the sofa/window board/sideboard and snaffled the fruit bowl. We didn't realise grapes are highly toxic (or we wouldn't have had them in the house), emergency vet made him puke it up and after charcoal tablets and a drip he's right as rain. Expensive lesson because we'd procrastinated on insurance to get the best deal. Twats.

Otto is a mighty six months old today.
He celebrated his half birthday by getting really close to catching his first squirrel. He got it by the tail but it escaped when he tried to readjust his grip.

A lean machine.
Our pup is 14 weeks now, I'm over the bitey phase, he isn't.

Anyone had issues bringing a new baby into the home? Our 4.5 month puppy feels usurped by our son even though I give him as much fuss as I can, he has taken to picking up his poop, bringing it inside and eating it. I know it's a game to get a reaction but it's grossing me out and now I have to follow him with a coal shovel. Le sigh. And then he chewed our new dining table today. Trying really hard not to yell but I'm a bit stressed and sleep deprived.

Eating his own poo might have nothing to do with the baby. Lots of puppies do it, it's behaviour they learn from their mothers. I think there are food supplements you can get that make their poo smell bad (to them). The best way of stopping it is just to clear up straight after them - they grow out of it. Not easy with having a baby to look after too. Good luck with both!

Otto is a 100% card carrying shit muncher at age 7.5 months. The more putrid the better. The only poo he won't eat is his own though.

Our bitch is a coprophile - but mainly to roll in. The smellier the better and given the numbers of badgers round here she can find something to roll in most days. Thankfully we have an outdoor hot and cold tap so we can was her down relatively easily.
She only tends to eat sheep, cow and horse poo, it is meant to have some digestive benefits.
Our boy doesn't have the same inclinations.

We've just put a door on the kitten's litter tray as there is a suspicious lack of poo in there - we suspect the dogboys may have been snacking between meals.

Thanks, maybe a coincidence but I get the impression he's doing it for attention. Plus I've improved his diet by adding par boiled veg to his feed and I think the poop smells better.
Herbie's a whopper, I remember you let me hold him once outside Brixton police station when I sold you some Rapha trousers, I felt like the boss.
