Carbon paste has grains in like sandpaper. Increase friction quite a bit. No issues with using it on metals as far as I'm aware

a) yes
b) not sure, probably not.
c) Gorilla tape and fizik seatpost ring at the right height will also help -

Hello,
Returning something to a seller on eBay says I need to tell him the tracking number. However how do I know I'll get a refund of all my money as they did send it tracked?
Really annoying as they listed it incorrectly and are causing me a lot of problems.
It's a bottom bracket.

Provide them with the tracking number and the seller should refund you once received.
If the seller does not oblige, eBay can step in and mediate. If that doesn't work, you can then file a dispute with paypal. Keep your postal receipts!
You can also claim back your costs for returning an item - You just need to take a photo of your postal receipt:

Hi
I need some advice. My next bike will have Campy 11sp and meca disc brakes. Campa cable kit will be good enough ? Should I go with Jagwire ? Is there other brand who's efficient for ~40/50£ ?
Thanks !

What brakes? I'd definitely get some compressionless outer cables, having used Campag levers and mechanical discs, you'd need all the help you can get.

TRP spyres
Do you have a model/brand for compressionless outer cables ? This is the first time i will not buy entry cables models, so dont know the best possibility I can chose

has anyone successfully used a garmin mount for a wahoo computer?
I want to use one of these
but with a Wahoo Elemnt instead of a garmin.
-

Yes, not personally, but I'm certain it has been done. DCRainmaker or maybe youtube had instructions on how to trim down/adjust the mount.

I did it- purchased a replacement Garmin bayonet, bonded it to a wahoo receiver with the base cut off, at a right angle for in order that once the wahoo was in its receiver the Garmin bayonet clicked into the mount and the unit was in the correct orientation. I have a number of spare parts if you want them?
This is the sort of thing that a 3D printer is excellent for btw, I don't have one so used cutting and glue.

You can just trim the wahoo... (if your mount is 90degree adjustable)...

I've used it on three different frames with alu seatposts for the past couple of years and it's been fine. It can cause a little wear on black seatposts, depending on how often you adjust the post, and how delicate the finish is.
Carbon paste has grains in like sandpaper
I've found the newer formula ( red ) Tacx stuff to be the least abrasive of those I've seen.

Thanks all.

Anyone here send their worn chains / cogs to scrap or recycle? It feels wrong to send all this material to landfill.

I'm about to buy a Kogel bottom bracket (one of the few BB's that are BB30A with a 24mm spindle), and have the option of throwing in some derailleur pulleys. They are £111 so not exactly on the cheap side - are they actually worth it? This is on my (only bike) all rounder, used for the occasional TT, crit, and all my training.
-
• #83342
Do they come in red?
-
• #83343
On any objective measure, no. However, if owning them would give you £111 worth of pleasure, then yes.

I take all the scrap metal I generate to the council recycling centre along with all my gardening waste. They won't take any DIY materials for free though, you now have to pay for that. That's why there's so much fly-tipping around these parts either that or someone is really bad at guerrilla mosaics.
-
• #83345
Of course they are worth it. Anyone who says otherwise is just jealous of either your watts or disposable income. Or possibly your bravery in asking the question here.

Girlfriend's bike got nicked and she's looking for a cheap hybrid to replace it. The plan had been to build her a sweet 26" mtb city cruiser thing while she rode her current bike into the ground but obviously things are more urgent now.
All the links she's sent me of bikes she might like are 700c, I was thinking 26" would be much more appropriate for someone her size (<170cm). Am I being stubborn? I just feel like 26" makes more sense - bigger tyres and comfort and a more sensibly designed bike. -

That's a deal breaker. Blue on red on black. Unacceptable. They should be paying me to ride with such a monstrosity.

Guess you need a race bike and a training bike.

My parents are on a boat in or near Workum in the Netherlands. I'd like to courier something to them on Monday as it's my mum's birthday.
Anybody in the area on here able to help out? Ideally someone that actually works as a courier? And speaks English, as my Dutch is non-existent.
(when I say courier something, I mean I'd like someone to buy a bottle of wine and or flowers etc and ride over to the boat and hand it over. And yes, the boat will be moored somewhere)

What thumb shifter will work with Ultegra 6500? 10 speed pls.
My seatpost keeps slipping. I have cranked it down pretty hard, cleaned some of the grease out and changed the clamping bolt (it is an integral seatclamp) and still it slips.
Question is- will using carbon assembly paste:
a) provide any benefit and prevent the slippage
b) cause the steel frame and alu seatpost to spontaneously combust?
