  • My seatpost keeps slipping. I have cranked it down pretty hard, cleaned some of the grease out and changed the clamping bolt (it is an integral seatclamp) and still it slips.

    Question is- will using carbon assembly paste:

    a) provide any benefit and prevent the slippage
    b) cause the steel frame and alu seatpost to spontaneously combust?

  • Carbon paste has grains in like sandpaper. Increase friction quite a bit. No issues with using it on metals as far as I'm aware
