I use mtb levers, been fine

I'm my experience, long throw levers work fine with short throw brakes, just not the other way round. As I discovered V brakes are just awful with canti levers.

Woah these bieks are cool. Tempted to dig out the old Bianchi I have in the shed and build it up into a super pub/commuter machine like this now.
Has anyone had joy getting any flatbar shifters to work with campy 9speed? -

Updated the ol' Campy Commuter to try to sell it on to someone who will actually ride it

A brief history of my rise-bar commuter bike: this was thrown together as pub bike 5 years ago, and has eventually become my only bike (and only means of transport), as I've sold/got rid of all the things I don't need in my life.
This is how it started life:
Then set up for winter commuting:
and some ghetto touring:
4 years of rusting, a new set of wheels and a new drivetrain later:
Then I cracked the frame at the seatstay junction, so welded it up, reinforced it, and gave it a coat of whatever was left in some old rattle cans (mostly cold-galv spray and vht exhaust paint):
Then gave it a better paintjob with some leftover 2-pack boat paint (and a new saddle):
And this is the most recent photo I can find:
I know it's not up to this forums high standards, but I've ridden more miles on this, and probably had more fun than on any 'fancy bike' I've ever owned.

Would like to remove the chainring guard off my 1x9 commuter. I assume i'll have issues with chain dropping, does anyone have a link to cheapish narrow/wide chainrings? Or could one use a track chainring?
-
• #422
Chainring guard as in the one on the cranks? If you haven't had a problem yet with dropping you aught to be good.
If you're worried and it isn't already, grab a cheap SS specific ring. NW is certainly nice but not absolutely necessary.
Unless it's 3/32" a track ring won't work.
