It's also worth having a look at a voodoo bizango from halfrauds... decent frame, cheap enough.

Yep agree with this. I bought one a few months ago and it's a huge amount of fun for £500. For just over £100 more I've got it running 1x with a better saddle, and ordered one of the cheap eBay dropper seatposts from the MTB thread. Don't think you'll get better value unless you buy second hand.

Or can I convert my slx 9mm qr hubs to thru axle? Is that even possible?
Nope, it's not :(

shop just called and said sorry, they've checked their stock and don't have an xl after all. He asked for a couple of measurements as he thought I could possibly ride a large (scott scale 9xx; 29er with raceish geo).
I'm 6'3" but legs are not all that long for my height.
I've sent him inside leg and forearm to middle finger tip - he's gonna get back to me.

What are the key things to look for in terms of fit with an MTB?
I'm sure this has been answered before but I'm a lazy muppet.
-
• #10057
I dunno, compare the stack and reach to your other frames I guess. MTB sizing tends to be a bit more flexible.

This is your chance to buy something fun ;p

There is that, although i'm not completely sure about what counts as more fun .
I'm having another look at the bikes you mentioned up-thread.

Struggling to understand the engineering basis for designing a suspension fork with one arm. I know it works, but i can't really get my head around it.

I've had 2 Inbreds, fucking horrendous piles of fuck. Heavy, lifeless, shit steel.
-
• #10062
If you want an easy life I'd avoid them at the mo.
That said, stiffer, lighter than equivalent XC / trail forks.
Scott Spark is supposed to be a right giggle :)

Certainly very basic.
I've had 2
Just double checking, were you ;-)

Basic? Bruh...it's agricultural

Given there are now self driving combine harvesters that navigate by GPS, I think that might be the wrong description. I'd suggest pig-iron, or gas pipe.

self driving combine harvesters that navigate by GPS
I hope they don't get Garmin software updates.

Anyone have any experience with the Genesis Core series?

but the colorway is horrendous...plus I think I need a 27.5+ wheel since i'm short...but the reviews of the bizango are awesome

Work colleague was looking for the same kind of bike. At 5ft 6 I suggested a 29er wasn't the way to go unless she was racing. Settled up on this:
Reviews well in the basic version but this has a better fork for pretty much the same price with discount.

Garmin up date or an attempt to upload activity to http://www.harvestwithgps.com ?

Thanks looks like a great suggestion!
How do you equate your road bike stack/reach with mountain bike reach?
According to this the stack is a lot higher, but as is the reach. But then again MTB stems are a lot shorter, yeah? -

ps. what size did she end up getting and how is she getting on with it?
Hello! I'm gonna get a China carbon fork for my cannondale. Currently have qr hubs so I should get a fork that fits these, but if want to get new wheels in the future, these are all through axle now, so I'll have to get new forks again then? Or can I convert my slx 9mm qr hubs to thru axle? Is that even possible?
Don't want to buy forks and wheels at the same time, but will want both in the next 6 months I reckon.
