Be sure to cheer on club mate of mine Pete Thompson as he runs his 23rd consecutive marathon (out of 44). Not sure of his expected time for 21miles but he's been doing a consistent sub4hrs.

I just watched that mind over marathon programme. Very informative, interesting and challenging - the coaches were brilliant.
Enjoy running and supporting tomorrow, everyone.

You should smash it with a recent sub 18 parkrun
Good luck!

I like the way your Apple Gels match your upper half colours.
Have fun!

Fekkin lovely running conditions this morning.
Was thinking this earlier, if London has sunshine, light breeze but not too hot like it is up here in mcr it'll be perfect day.
Telly on shortly for a bit of lufgusser spotting...

Yes. That's me.
Thanks for all the support out on the course.
It all got a bit emotional after 19 miles but I finished.

Really fucked mine up somehow, couldn't get my legs going at all. 25 minutes off my 3:45 target :(
Still, I'm glad I've done it.
Run dem was definitely the best supporter section

Completely ballsed that up, perfectly on course for 14 miles, feeling good although doubts were creeping in, and then started getting stomach cramps and gave up, did a lot of walking, enjoyed run dem but was going to give up after seeing my sister shortly after mile 21 but was told o had to finish so shuffled the rest of the way round. 1:29 first half 2:00 second half. Not the way to run a marathon! I'd got a bit dehydrated by missing lots of water stations, but otherwise I really can't complain apart from anything apart from giving up on the goal. Need to find another race to pick myself up again!

Good effort @nauls and @Sainsburys_Ed. well battled.
The sun makes a lot more of a difference than you think it is going to, that's my excuse.

Just checked, I was 14 minutes off my training pace after 30k. Definite hydration issues I think, was really worried about cramping up. My first pee after was like apple juice.
Commiserations Ed.

Good effort all. All the vlm runners I follow on Str#v# had a dip (small or big) towards the end, got me thinking the Sun / heat (?) might've played a role influencing the day?

Well done everyone!
In less impressive news, I managed to run 5km for the first time since getting a shitty virus which kicked off my asthma.
Unfortunately, the last 1.6km were limped slowly, after I turned my ankle... FML.

Ha! Your strava account is full of photos of my mate Rich looking all sweaty!
Great time BTW.

Well done to all marathoners!
I got two 5ks in over the weekend up at home with my girlfriend who's decided the Great North Run is a good idea. Lovely weather and setting for runs, so it was nice to be out. Steady pace but historically dodgy knees are holding out! -

There was another Tim from Kent A.C. Tall, bald and pale or covered in sun cream. I gave him your cheer at mile 20, sorry about that. On reflection, his Tim was more to the right
Such a great guy, really hope he smashes it.
