  • Just been having a look and from some of the before/after photos it definitely looks worth shooting them up to the denim doctor. Atelier and repairs doesn't seem to be doing any repairs for private clients at the moment

  • New page fail but cheers for the recommendations!

  • That's annoying, I need yet another crotch restoration

  • Isn't the crotch blowout an inevitable part of the raw denim fetish?

I'm not sure you can have a really thick material starched to be extra stiff repeatedly bent on a corner without a rip/wear.

Best bet is to soak the crotch area when you get then to soften them up.

  • I set 'em up, you knock 'em down...

  • Oh I always soak the starch out. But for me the crotch starts going through well before there is any appreciable wear elsewhere. I get them reinforced with another layer on the inside as soon as it starts and at least one repair when that goes. Must be the way I walk or something.

  • It's the way they're rarely washed.

  • Ball schvitz.

  • Might have to post up a couple of pairs for repair, favourite pair from natural selection are wearing through at the crotch, despite wearing them sparingly, so hoping he can rescue them..

  • He brought my Edwins back.
    Shame i got fat.

  • Ive got a couple of pairs of selvedge to move on, I've lost loads of weight this year and they are both too big now.

First pair are Levi's Matchsticks 36w 34l, i love these but they are way to big now, really nice id and lightweight (would guess 11.5) so perfect for summer not showing much wear either, looking for £30

Second pair are Ralph Lauren/Denim Supply 36w 34l. Heavier than the Levi's and seen a lot more wear, been washed a few times really nice quality, again just way to big now, £25 for these.

I'm in Lewisham, but happy to post.

  • Community clothing. Has anyone got any experience of them? I'm now fat, i am, and need new jeans.

  • Oldtown have some amazing old school stuff, from another age really. My mate wears it with aplomb. https://www.old-town.co.uk/

  • I bought a pair a month or two ago; I'm no denim head, but I like them a lot. Not sure whether they use a lot of remaindered fabric; the pairs I looked at were noticeably different colours.

  • I can't seem to find my usual go to carhartt's at the reasonable price I normally pay. I'll give them a go.

  • On repairs - just spoke to the manager (I think) at Son of a Stag when I took my pair in. Opening a second shop nearby largely to increase repair capacity. Hoping to do same day repairs - clearly a growth industry.

  • They'll also make you a hand carved wooden spoon while you wait...

  • @>>>>>> what's your denim situation like these days? In the land of sand it's a no go from now until October so I haven't bought any for nearly 3 years.

Moving to Singapore soon so I'm now wondering whether summer selvedge would be an option in a high humidity environment.

    Sporks or GTFO.

  • I've found my vaguely amusing repair receipt

  • Was that new material or darning repair. Saw the darning machine being used at nudie in soho. Amazing stuff.

  • Both, plus some restitching. They did a great job. But someone said they no longer do repairs for public. Guess Nudie only repair their own?

  • Have to say since being HK ive worn denim strides a handfull of times the winter here is cool enough for denim byt it only lasts 3/4months max, not sure if singapore is hotter and more humid?
