A brief history of my rise-bar commuter bike: this was thrown together as pub bike 5 years ago, and has eventually become my only bike (and only means of transport), as I've sold/got rid of all the things I don't need in my life.
This is how it started life:
Then set up for winter commuting:
and some ghetto touring:
4 years of rusting, a new set of wheels and a new drivetrain later:
Then I cracked the frame at the seatstay junction, so welded it up, reinforced it, and gave it a coat of whatever was left in some old rattle cans (mostly cold-galv spray and vht exhaust paint):
Then gave it a better paintjob with some leftover 2-pack boat paint (and a new saddle):
And this is the most recent photo I can find:
I know it's not up to this forums high standards, but I've ridden more miles on this, and probably had more fun than on any 'fancy bike' I've ever owned.
