Unless I'm being thick it could be made into a regular bike too? Only issue being the bit of the bottom tube sticking out horizontally from the bb

I think you're right 🙂

Good looking Brother.

front rack to the rescue

Anyone using kickstands / steering stabilisers on their functional bikes, or is this all just needless tat that died off for good reason.

Good looking Brother.
Nice ! Needs flames.

Got my bigxtop bar bag working as a rando bag with the help of some webbing and a bungee on monday. 38c hypers are rolling nicely, really like them, but I think I'll be shedding them for something more off-road capable soon. Drivetrain is starting to fall apart finally so will be refreshed in 1x mode when money allows, along with DT shifter and possibly new levers to facilitate stedloop bar installation.
One day I might cut the steerer. -

I made a "steering stabiliser" for my old functionalssmtb, but this was more to stop the massive porteur rack and basket I had flopping the front end over when I was trying to load it up. Super helpful

I like it...
I'm planning a trip to Cornwall which is a 280 mile rode with near 9000ft of climbing between myself and my destination. Still undecided on what level of bike cargo I need

Nice!
Well there's enough crap in those bags for 600 miles over 5 days and not using accommodation.

Quite a large spring, maybe you could fix a smaller one to the cable stops?
-
• #15143
It definitely needed to be that big. It was a really, really heavy front end, with a slack head angle.

Had it like this for a while, worked alright. Directly attached to the fork and half as long looks a bit neater maybe.

That's a nice looking bit of DIY. Makes me think I probably shouldn't pay £25 for one

I like a kickstand, but having ridden without one for a long while I've learned to live without it too.
I reckon if you regularly need to park you bike places without bike racks you would benefit from a kickstand. -

Are those Front roller Classics?
-
• #15148
I feel like I need one or both of those so I don't think useless tat
-

Can't say I do, but I've felt like it could be useful when I've had to pull the bike away from the stands to load up 30+kg of shopping and the bike's flopping all over the place.
Damn, that rear seattube angle. How would that be to ride?
