Also looking at the Bontrager flare R (£50) - can anyone vouch is it worth the money or will any light with an equivalent lumen output and blink pattern work for a daytime light ? Tempted by the cateye rapid x2 , available for about £30 , recently bought the front version and its really bright. Looking for a rear with good side visibility which the x2 has. Only downside is it's held on by a thin o-ring. Would be worried it'd break and fly off without me noticing .
Maybe the old cateye TL-LD610 will do the job for a lot less money ...

My faithful old moon shield must have came out of its clip on my bag last night never to be seen again.
Looking at a new rear light including the bontrager flare R.
Is a light with a "daytime mode" worth getting or just marketing BS?
