Did the same sort of thing as Gaston on my 'light' fixed rear wheel, but with 3-cross DS, radial heads-in NDS, and missed every other NDS spoke to use a 24h rim. Also, 16x 14mm alloy nipples on DS, but 8x 12mm brass nipples on NDS.
Feels radially and laterally stiffer than any other fixed rear wheel I own, despite being my lightest by far, and has at least four fewer spokes.
(Spokes are Alpina DBs, rim is Kinlin XR-19W, brass nipples are Alpina, alloy nipples are Sapim). -

pls do many reports on the performance of the wheel over time. Good luck and I hope you don't die in flames covered in poo.
p.s. if you ship a chain you will die in flames, etc.
But seriously, intriguing. I am very interested in how the wheel holds up.

I had a friend that tried radial lacing on the same hub, his was on the nds so even less spoke tension.
Could be corrosion etc, but the holes in the hub are very close together and I suspect that played a role.

Haha :-) My light battery. Bodged a tool bottle with an old socket on the lid.

I officially hate my new front wheel. Impossible to get the tension even while the wheel is true, I suspect the rim is wonky. Rear was easy to build up (once I got the correct spoke length). Have now managed to narrow it down to just one spot with lateral play, ~0.5mm so will leave it and see what happens after I've ridden it for a bit. What is that math graph called where it drops sharply and then bends off, never reaches zero.
Edit:
Exponential decay, apparently.

Exponential decay, apparently.
Other asymptotes are available :)

What are the tension values on the DS?

That's them thingies. Couldn't remember the word.

Looks like a standard hex key skewer

Budget, fixed, low flange, silver, rear, 36h hub, reasonably well sealed and suitable for commuting. Does it exist? Main problem with spec list seems to be low flange, otherwise finding one would be easy.

Why does it have to be low flange? Aesthetics? On a commuter?

Good question. I have no good answer.

The pendulum swings?

I have mounted more than 150 wheels without a sphygmomanometer I have tried but I find it useless.
I have never broken a hub and have tried all the interesting fixtures possible...
My next wheel is a 30h Zeus hub on a Mavic record du monde sur route 30h crows foot

Hah, our company is forcing everyone to use internet one, as they where concern about the mechanic abusing the reliable DT Swiss wheel building tool.
