Look at the 'Sugino' font; it's the same as the cranks that are sold today. That's their current logo. The original logo looks like this:

I always consider a track bike with brklss installed and clipless pedals to be a less attractive option for thieves as they're not particularly easy to ride away. I could be wrong though.

you're assuming a lot of knowledge on the thieves part.
Although i do also like to think the size of my bike makes it less attractive to tealeaves

Not really, the lack of brakes is obvious to spot and hopefully would dissuade anyone who understands foot retention, if they don't then the alternative is an entertaining face smashing once they fail to operate said bike. Having said that, I've heard of a fair few track bikes simply being slained by thieves.
