  • I wonder if this is perhaps related to the many Conservative MPs under investigation for electoral fraud.

  • That is almost certainly one factor in this decision. No byelections on a wafer thin majority.

  • It's on! June 8th, another defacto referendum

  • If it's any comfort-going on the same logic as most people seemed to have treated the referendum, Labour are now the ultimate protest vote-even less credible than the Greens and Monster Raving Loony Party.

  • There's a lot that's going to be going on in this election. Another strong showing by the SNP will only strengthen their mandate for a referendum.

  • Maybe Russia can interfere and give labour a hand.

  • Was just thinking this. It's going to kick-off the whole Scottish independence thing again.

  • That's already kicked off. Speaking to a scottish mate briefly about brexit the other day: "I didn't support it, but now with what it might help happen, I don't mind so much"

  • today would be a good day to bury bad news

    keep 'em peeled everyone

  • I'm still trying to figure out what this means...

What are the chances of a backlash?

  • Anyone got a good site analyzing the last results to help work out which seats would need to be taken to create an overoptimistic and clusterfucked popular front style coalition?

  • Nationally? Low.

I wish it would happen though...

  • What are the chances of a backlash?

    Against Labour?

    Yep, pretty high I reckon.

  • I'm still trying to figure out what this means...

Everyone is. This is pretty nuts the more I think about it.

This may encourage the resurgence of the Liberal Democrats which hurts the Tories/helps Labour.

  • so 6 weeks for someone to appear out of nowhere and save us from another 5 years of crap. It's not going to happen is it?

  • Tory campaign promises:

    £350 million for the NHS
Access to single market and retention of banks' passporting.
    No more forrins allowed in.

  • I was convinced the announcement was going to be about an alien invasion. I am disappoint.

  • This should also do away with UKIP.

Message being, A vote for UKIP lets labour in by the back door and would you rather have a strong conservative government who have already been making all the right (wing) noises or a Corbyn led coalition negotiating free borders and benefits for all?

  • So 6 weeks to convince people they've been lied to massively while Labour doesn't really offer much opposition and the press is massively biased.

I iz not optimistic, now is the change for Labour/Greens or Labour/Libdems to bundle together, but will they won't they?

  • Every time it's not an asteroid, my heart sinks a little more.

  • If there has even been a time for an electoral alliance...

  • Not even a fart from Labour yet...

  • They are all too weak, scared, self-interested, short-sighted to do this. Sadly.

  • I think Jeremy's getting a puncture fixed somewhere between N1 and SW1...
