Anyone know anything much about domain names?
I bought mine, mechanicalvandal.com, through Godaddy and set it up to point to my Big Cartel shop and it was working fine. Only problem was that I got absolutely no business through Big Cartel so I've cancelled my shop on there and want to just point it to my Etsy shop where I do get some sales.
I've gone into the Manage Domains bit of my GoDaddy account and have changed the CNAME from my Big Cartel url to my Etsy URL but now mechanicalvandal.com just takes you to the Etsy homepage, not my shop page. Any ideas?
There is another version of the url for my etsy shop, http://www.etsy.com/shop/mechanicalvandal but if I try and enter that into the cname box it tells me Enter either @ or a valid host name such as: "subdomain.domain.tld".
