  • I had one and it died. I went with a cheap agptek one and it's lasting well enough. Standalone Mp3 players are dying, everyone uses their phone.

  • Yeah, I'm a sucker for words like failover / backup / reserve / spare and would prefer I don't waste my phone battery playing mp3s but perhaps it's time to get over it and just throw a huge SD card in the phone. 128gb card in Z3 Compact?

  • Nah, I'm entirely with you on this. Sure I have some music on my phone for when my mp3 dies but I prefer to use the right tool. Those agptek players have a good rep from people who care a lot more than I do and the battery lasts ages.

  • Maybe a Fiio player is what you're looking for? They're rated pretty highly amongst so called audiophiles

  • You can put a 128gb card in a clip so that probably covers the bigger.
