That's clever, no doubt, I'd rather not pull the entire bumper off though - the "fold the plastic around the tab" thing looks much easier to do in-situ, and the tab is almost all there, it's just that the hole is slightly too large which enables the plastic-rivet to pull through. I'd like to add back some material then drill the hole again, shortly before riveting the whole thing back together.
You got sloppy holes in your bumper to arch liner area? I used chunkier rivets and put a metal washer on the far inside surface for the rivet to swell up against, gets a much better fit then the factory arrangement ever would have.
