Airborne Zeppelin......help!

I am seriously considering what I'm told is a 10 year old Airborne Zeppelin road bike. The spec is good and it seems to fit my needs perfectly but then I decided to do a bit of reading and there was a bizarre mix of very positive and very negative reviews from owners. The main negative seems to be welds cracking which of course isn't great news but the positives sung its praises.

I'd be really grateful for any advice/views.......many thanks!!!

I had one in the past and it was fine, sold it one due to not being quite the right size.

Airborne turned into Van Nicholas so the Zeppelin is now the Zephyr ( I think)

Fuck.
I so wished for this to be a tread started by someone who had lost steering of his airship in a storm or something, and was desperately appealing to the forum for help.

I've got a Lancaster MTB frame....the welds are lovely, not quite merlin or moots, but pretty good
