Once, at a London toolshow, I asked the guy under the Kreg banner if he could demonstrate a specific jig that allowed joints to be accurately held at all sorts of jaunty angles?
He stared at me unknowingly, then, with no other potential customers facing him, began to delve into the barely unpacked shipping cases under the worktop of the exhibition stand.
Finally he found a large-ish unopened box. Releasing pristine tabs from slots, he revealed the device. I'm pretty certain he had never seen it before. He bumbled a few words of introduction, then relieved turned to another punter, leaving me to examine it's intricacies.
Like you I am not a carpenter, so balked at the £100+ price.
