  • You can't get fussy about risers and then put Gatorskins on.

  • Training wheel set..

  • Training wheel set..

  • 1st dibbbbs!

  • :-P

I had a 25mm gp classic on the corima which is what I wanted to run for 'training' but doesn't clear the fork. Need to order a gp4000II but in gumwall and in 23mm then should be good to go

  • They're not a true gumwall and look terrible. Vittoria Open Corsa SC if you want a gunwall.

  • Last time I rode this was late last summer, when I realised there was a crack in the rails of the Carbon Flite. A replacement flite got lost in the post somewhere last year and only just got round to finding a replacement TI rail.

The carbon flites have a different mechanism from the general flites as far as im aware, they have a screw fixture on the nose side of the saddle to allow for easy replacement of the rails. God bless this forum and @cake for hooking me up with a battered old flite with TI rails which came out eventually after burning and cutting with some plier cutters.

It's never as simple as that though..
The holes were filled with shitty glue residue which has now been cleared but still the rails dont sit where they should. The shapes of the rails are different which is odd, the TI ones sitting closer to the saddle and at a more level angle. They are also a bit too long, around 4-5mm even with the gunk out. Which means dremeling the ends down at some point, then a quick sand to make them fit the angle of the holes a bit better. Hard to see in the photos but the carbon bit is a U shape and the rail should sit inside it.

Ps. @Dropped.Bars I really dont know how you would be able to get the rails back into a normal flite without some serious gear

  • ah, love this bike. Better they're too big than too small I guess.

  • Mate, jsut caught this thread, not seen it before. That's fucking sick!

  • Thank you! I really need a fixie photographer to come and take some proper photos of this as its basically finished :-)

  • Let me take some with the Hexar

  • Sorted.
Took about 5mm off the rails and sanded the edges down for a smooth finish. Had to take some off of the nose to get a firmer fit at the top. Saddle feels so much firmer which is surprisingly much better.

  • So good. Sad to see the pink go.

  • This is pretty much one of the last pieces I needed, apart from some silver nitto bar end plugs.
In other news the kevlar saddle has a long crack slowly growing along the bottom of the carbon.. Le sigh...

  • I have some nice silver nitto stamped bar end plugs if interested? Cheers. Tom

  • Will PM. Thanks!

  • Done a photo shoot over the weekend in its near finished state. Need a headset fitted and maybe a change of saddle then it will be finished. Here’s a preview with a local cat

  • Finally got some decent photos of the Anchor. There should be more to come sans wheel covers. Thank you Erik! -
