So I went an gone done a stupid. I brought some 8 speed 5500 105 bits, all lovely and shiny, however my downtube shifters (rx100) is 7 speed.
See my issue!! Anyway I can make it work because I dont wanna spend anymore money.

Should work fine indexed as is but won't reach one of the gears (highest or lowest depending on how you set it up). Shift amount is the same 7 or 8 speed.

The 7 speed shifters in indexed mode will operate your gears nicely from 8 down to 2, at which point you can then push the lever past the last click from 2 into 1, as long as the stop on first gear is set nicely on the derailleur. I have a bike set up this way and it works perfectly, if that all makes sense?

Disc rotors, crankset and BB for a little overhaul for the all-city NBD, thinking also maybe to join the gumwall tyres craze, but my marathon supreme seems to be doing quite well and maybe just upgrading for the look isn't work it...just maybe...

The rims look really skinny compared to the frame.
It's begging for some deep crabon.

Clement strada lgg??
Nah, got f&f off eBay about three years ago. Toured on once and then it sat unbuilt for a couple of years.
