  • I'll see what I've got for you Buttman

  • Cheers! I'm out of LDN for Easter but hmu if you find owt

  • How were you going to get the rails back on? I've been struggling with mine after it popped off

  • Ive got a carbon top and it should just slot in, then screw the plate on top of the rails to hold it in place. Will update the Maziora Madness thread once I have all the parts ready and upload some photos

  • Ahhh okay fair. My flite alpes does nooooot do that. It's killing me.

  • Freeze the rails before fitting?

  • I bought this frame last year and got it built up, but there were always little niggly things that stopped it being properly rideable or enjoyable. Finally got it sorted in the last couple of weeks and took it out for a decent length ride today. New wheels and longer stem are great additions, and the Zipp SL-80 bars must be the best handlebars in the world.

  • Fixed some wires and stuff on my volare 853 today, frame feels amazing!

Stuff left to do - bartape, new stem, cut steerer when i find a nice position, new genesis logos for downtube and maybe some new wheels later.

  • Thats ace @bankiren! 44mm HT?

  • Looks mad fun tbh :P

  • Straight to Modern Bike Porn

  • This is some serious photography skill too!

Love the shallow depth on the last one.

  • Looks mint with the gum walls! Been thinking about a similar frame for a whole now, what niggles did it have?

  • Thanks! The niggles were more with the build than the frame to be honest - gear indexing and a very honky front brake just meant I never took it out.

What the bike shops who have worked on it have said is that the internal cable routing is a big pain in the arse (more so than normal but I didn't really pay attention to how) and they were a little concerned by the front mech plate and how it would hold up with the recommended torque.

  • Finally got my Steve Goff together and started taking it out now the weather is improving. Was concerned about standard size chainrings, having only ever used compact/1x before but it's absolutely fine.
Mix of 10sp DA, 105 & tiagra. Superstar wheels, which are great.
Saddle position is a bit gaston, but I think the fairly slack st angle + smp saddle + short thighs leaves me with no alternative.

  • Does it contract that much? I'll try it out. Thanks.

  • It depends how much you need it to contract. I'd suggest its less than 1% certainly so possibly not enough.

  • yeh this needs more than that. i'll give it a go anyway

  • does the frame have a little metal plate just behind the front mech hanger to stop the mech pressing against the carbon?

  • You need this:

And a thread and a vacuum cleaner for internal routing.

    Or Etap.

  • Nearly finished this holdsworth as I need a geared bike for upcoming prudential ride. Not going for fast, just comfy. Needs 28mm pacelas and bottle cage plus tweaking but happy. A real mix of components that I had around.

Contemplating mudguards as I have eyelets and considering bagman plus carradice for practicality.

  • Did you buy that off me at a Cycle Surgery a few years ago?

  • Actually I think mine was a but bigger, but I sold it to someone 'on here' and I'd like to know how it's getting on:
