  • We have a fox and her cub under our shed! Spotted for the first time Friday gone and only seen once again since. As mentioned above, have read that foxes and cats tolerate each other pretty well, though may get aggressive/violent if protecting young.

We have two kitties, so are keeping an eye on the situation, not that we feel we can do much about it apart from locking the cats in, which we are not keen to do. Our cats usually just watch the foxes that pop by in the garden, and are locked in overnight, though they return home later as the summer progresses (11-midnight).

Will try to post a couple of pictures that I took of the foxes. They are so damn cute. Very temped to feed them, though if they end up injuring my cats, I may regret doing so!

  • We had a fox have a litter of 6 cubs on the railway embankment behind our house last spring. Generally our cat and the adult foxes tolerated each other, but once the cat came in through the cat flap at warp speed closely pursued by a fox. I think he may have got a bit too close to the cubs for comfort.
