• Does anybody have a crown race remover I can borrow in London today? Just need it over night.

  • I've had mixed success with the dedicated tool I bought, you can borrow it but I think its a bit shit. What sort of fork are you removing it from?

    Recently I've thought this a better method (steel forks, steel steerer mind, I've never had to do it with a carbon / alu fork)

    and a hammer to knock it out. Much less likely to damage the paint or crown of the fork

  • I usually close wise enough that crown would hit/sit corners horizontally and with mullet hammer tap steerer few times.. Crown races just pops out without any trouble and forks/CRs are not damaged.
