  • What's the best 700 x 25mm (or 26mm) gumwall clincher money can buy?

  • turbo cotton

  • Best for what?

Speed? What amey said. Durability? Not what amey said.

  • More durable than Corsa G+ IME though

  • The people at Bicycle Rolling Resistance say otherwise.

  • I'm talking about REAL WORLD TESTING fam. Corsas pick up flints like nobodies business.

  • I've not used any of the new graphene stuff.

  • OK MATE. 9,000 km on my G+ and one flat. REAL WORLD TESTING.

  • Just to contrast that I got a flat on a G+ after about 4 miles from new.

  • Really? What do you weigh? I don't think I get 9000k out of anything except Durano or Durano Plus thickness tyres.

  • Yes really. 72kg.
110 psi, 23c. Need to replace as they now look like shit.
Ridden in London, Home Counties and on dubious Eastern European fire roads.

  • Genuinely keen to see the wear on front and rear if you can be bothered to take a pic. I've also done 5k km without a single flat but when I got new wheels I swapped front to rear.

  • 72g, 110psi, 23s, 9000k, 1 flat?

Your pressure choice is awful but maybe I should have a look into these G+ variants. I kinda moved away from Vittoria to Schwalbe when my distances started getting stupid and I hate repairing flats. Maybe you're just lucky though and your next set will have 10 flats in a week? :)

  • I used to get 4k out of a Pro Race before it would start flatting 'often'.

The G+ gets decent punc rating compared to its competitors but other people are getting nowhere near the 9000k mark from them.

  • Works for me. Yeah, maybe a lucky pair.

@amey meet me in RP before I swap them.

  • Looks like this Graphene shit is going to have to get hippy tested.

  • looking forward to the tweets

  • I'm not putting them near my cock.

  • Oh, for the record, I rode the Vittoria Voyager Hyper 32s to Wales and back on Sat and nothing negative to report. I quite like them. It was a less potholed route than I normally found myself on and for a change I was mostly in a good mood.

  • 28mm+, tanwall, tubeless - what are my options?

  • Some modest real world testing to add to the G+ data. Only ~1500km so far, no flats and very few cuts. (25c, 70kg, dry weather riding London/Kent.)

  • I've got new wheels coming in the next few weeks and highly tempted by the 26mm Turbo Cottons. However, In 7,000 km I've not yet had a puncture with 25mm GP4000IIs and have gotten complacent enough to leave my tools/gas at home lately.

Considering above comments about Durability am I to be sorely disappointed?

My old wheels are 11mm wide internally requiring a good 110+ PSI for effective use, is high pressure having a positive effect on my durability?
New wheels are a lot wider allowing for lower pressures and hopefully a bit more comfort.

  • 72kg and 110psi!

  • High pressure increase risk of puncture.

  • Thanks! Will remain optimistic about the cottons in that case.
