Does that meet CTT regs? Surely you can't brake from the bar ends?
I can't recall whether the bar ends were actually there on race day, but as they turn in quite sharply it is actually possible to operate the brake while holding them, or any other part of the bar which anybody might describe as "their widest part". The organisers were probably distracted by the other competitors' fancy dress as it was boxing day anyway. I've seen a number of people get away with riding their fixie bieks with cross top levers and riding open events in slvlss, so it's important to recognise the distinction between being in breach of CTT regulations and being in breach of Jeffrey Archer's 11th Commandment :)
