I'm 187cm and like my 56 precursa much more than i did 58. So I guess it's personal preference, if you can - try one out. Cheers

Guys, this is quite a broad question, but has anyone had trouble with a chainring being too big for a pre-cursa? I want to give mine a 58 or a 70 tooth for an attempt at some mad speeds for fun, but don't know if they will fit okay. I'm sure the 58 would be line since its had a 53 on there and there was clearance, I just can't remember how much :/
Cheers

At 183, I'd say 58 is the best option. I have a friend who is 5'11 who just fits my 58cm Dolan, but, pushing 6'3, it's too small for me. If you're nearby I'd be happy to let you try out on mine.

I'm 185, don't have one but if I got a pre cursa I'd be looking at a 56.
That said I've ridden a 58 and it been fine but it was quite long. I like a 56/57 top tube with a 120 stem. -

Is this the new breed of Dolans?

Fair enough, but that all depends on your ape index. I'm basong this on someone like me with an almost 'perfect' ape index

May depend on how old the frame is...
I sometimes get chainstay rub from a 53t Zen (spindle & frame flex), but my frame's an older model with straight chainstays. The 2017 ones appear to have a bit more space. -

Thanks :)
Had cranks polished ditched enve bars and fitted modern saddle .. Not everyone's cup of tea but I do like a splash of garish colour on all my bikes :)

ordered a new (2017) precursa in gmg. Really excited and got some really decent components to build it up as my all-rounder. Webpage says it takes 23c tyres max, but I sort of doubt it and IIRC I saw people with 25s too. It does take 25s right?
Ordered it yesterday morning but it doesn't yet show in the 'my orders' tab on my account overview. They say it takes a few days to process orders, but so far got no confirmation apart from the paypal receipt, which I find a bit curious. I'm not worried, was just wondering how many days it takes for them in reality to process/ship? -

Yes take 25's with ease :)
Yeah order confirmation was slow but sure i had frame 3 days after order

Depends how much saddle/ bar drop you want
I'm 183cm, went for a 58. Needed to slam the stem to get 3" drop between bars and saddle. It's fine, but if I was buying again I'd have gone for a 56 and added a couple of spacers.
Or get a 56 and if it's too small I'll swap :)
