100% this. The incident at Westminister had media coverage that rolled on for weeks which I'm sure in part will contribute to way more incidents like this.
Don't give the knobs that do this stuff any airtime, and admittedly they'll think of something else, but it's not necessarily the loss of life that they're aiming to achieve.
As much as I rushed here to post about it I am having second thoughts whether it's worth reacting much to these incidents anymore.
Maybe our future weapon against these things is just ignoring them? I.e. no more attention than you would give to a traffic accident with the same extent of death/injury. Within a few hours some pathetic loser will have his name published all over the world and (if still alive) get to enjoy his 15 minutes of notoriety.
