I've got (from work) a last gen 15 inch retina pro and the gen before (with mechanical trackpad) 13 inch retina pro.
It's the older one I prefer. The clicky trackpad is far nicer than the haptic one, with far less crazy accidental/buggy cursor nonsense.
Not off, otherwise the trackpad wouldn't move at all if you pushed it in (which is disconcerting enough when the device is off). There are a few options though.
