  • If I was getting a hand grinder now, I'd be looking at the Rhino. Though my Porlex is still perfectly fine after 6 years.

  • I agree. I’ve got a Porlex which has been fine for years. But my brother got a Rhinoware grinder recently and it is noticeably better.

  • Ta; my localish indie coffee place sells the rhinowares so I will probably pick one up next time I'm in.

@withered_preacher looks shiny; what is it?

  • It's a Zassenhaus Turkish grinder.
I've had mine for almost a dozen years, use it twice a day for mokapot coffee.

Received and installed the Marco SP9 filter brewer today. Means I can make filter coffee by the cup with excellent consistency, and not twat about with a pouring kettle unable to do anything else for 5 minutes.

  • Looks great, bit out of budget for home use! :)

  • This isn't though. I love ours, does the same thing just not so theatrically.

  • Yeah I was kidding really.

I can see the advantage of one of those in a shop

  • That's the Technivorm Moccamaster KBGT. The T in KBGT, for thermal is the important bit - no hotplate. Makes up to 1200ml but works very well down to 500ml. The one-cup version is also very good for those without coffee drinking partners.

  • That's a great idea. There's a coffee shop near me that makes great coffee but only let down by very slow service. The whole operation seems to shut down any time someone orders a pour-over. I'm going to show them this.

  • StevePeel if you ever get an abundance of coffee, give us a shout and I'll happily buy a K or 2 of beans (I'm sure there will be a proverbial queue in here)

If i ever get to be in your neck of the woods I will definitely pop in for a brew and a bag. (Is there a secret Lufgus handshake?)

  • I've always had a problem with shops using domestic brewing methods in a commercial setting. There's a big clue as to why it fucks up service and you get a queue of impatient shitty expressions.

  • Enter discount code PukesOnCock

  • I love discount coffee, but I don't know if I'm prepared to do that to you just for it...

  • "A large PukesOnCockaccino and a small DoASkidiatto please"

  • What's the latest view on dairy free milk for nice esprssso based brews?

I drink black but partner has milky drinks and we're looking at non-dairy options.

    Ta.

  • HILAND CAFE in Roman Road.
    If you need extra boos
Guys do bulletproof coffee there too

  • Oatly Barista is the go to non milk option for most of the decent cafes near me.

  • I'll second the oatly option. Steams well, you can still taste the coffee, instead of just soy/almond. For me it is the best non-dairy milk alternative, and closest to regular milk.

Oatly are actually doing a pop-up in the shoreditch boxpark at the mo, with free coffee if you try it with oat milk.

  • Thanks both @jdp @mrs_socks

  • Another big +1 for Oatly Barista

  • Late to this discussion, but a britta water filter goes a long way....
