The good thing about Tejeda is that it's pretty close to the top of the island. You don't have a choice about doing that climb at the end of the day. Not if you want to get home that evening. Plenty of good restaurants too. We went to Maspalomas/Playa del Ingles today to get spares from the bike shop (two new clincher tyres for @Cycliste, spare tub for me). Got in and out ASAP. Looked grim.
