• you think? that was the initial idea... it was just too tempting and given the power level I was feeling very sporty!

I've already changed the seat post to a black one since that photo, cabling has been tidied. Next I think it's a black brooks saddle.

  • It has a certain randonneur look to it, at best. Imho, the cockpit would look a lot tidier if you got rid of the spacer stack and mounted the bars the other way around. The project in general is really cool btw, would be interested to hear how you did the e-bike conversion!

Thanks dude, I had the spacer stack as a buffer against inadvertent errors when cutting my first steer tube. There is also the option of more aggressively angled stems. I will first flip the handlebars :)

There is a lot to consider when deciding how to approach your ebike build. This mid-drive was fairly painless as the controller is built into the motor and all you need is a battery and all the other necessary parts come with the motor. You just need to make sure that your bottom bracket has the right dimensions. I ordered it from Aliexpress, the motor is Chinese but high end - Bafang BBS02

I got the battery built by ampedebikes, the configuration is 14S2P

The best place to start is endless-sphere forum and the info page of this shop from California ebikes.ca/learn

Would I get in trouble for posting links to those companies on this page?
